Erath
Oregon $32/$8
Tropical fruit, lemon and floral notes seamlessly balance with a clean lift
of acidity, enlivening the palate and encouraging a gratifying length of
flavors. Crisp and zesty, with good fleshy fruit and a lingering flavor of
cinnamon, nicely set off with just the right amount of acid.
Foris Pinot Blanc
Rogue Valley, Oregon $28/$7
Highly aromatic, notes of apple blossom, juicy pears and vanilla spice are
followed by flavors of apple pie, kiwi and coconut. Full bodied, yet balanced
by a snappy, crisp finish, the lingering minerality and slight
toasty-yeasty
aftertaste add another dimension of complexity.
A to Z Wineworks
Dundee, Oregon $36
Pale yellow gold aromas of ripe citrus fruits, kiwi, lychee, wet stones,
minerals, honeysuckle and nectarines. As the wine opens aromatics of spices,
nutmeg, lime blossom & tangerine are revealed. The finish rolls seamlessly
off the mid-palate and goes on and on.
Chalk Hill Estate
North Slope Pinot Gris 2006
Russian River Valley, CA. $60
The 2006 growing season was long and cool, producing a multi-layered, lush
and mouth-filling wine. Its bouquet of white peach, apricot, marmalade and
a slight hint of roasted hazelnut precede a deep and round palate of orange
spice, nectarine and cream. Finishes long with vanilla, stone fruit and almonds.
